A small practice that measures before it advises
Hidromodel is a consulting and services practice in Osijek, Croatia. Since 2009 we have helped water utilities understand their networks, lose less water and plan what to build next.
How we work
Every engagement starts with the network as it is — measured, mapped and modelled — not as the drawings say it should be. Once the model matches the meters, the recommendations write themselves: which zones leak most, where pressure can come down, what to build first.
We work in plain language with utility staff, and we hand over the tools so the work continues after we leave. A model nobody can run is a report on a shelf.
Where we come from
Hidromodel grew out of fifteen years of master plans, feasibility studies and network designs for Croatian utilities, from Osijek to Zagreb, and long expert roles on development-bank programmes abroad.
It is led by Igor Dundović, a civil engineer with a university specialist degree in environmental protection who is completing a doctorate on pressure and water losses. He is a chartered engineer and leads the working group on non-revenue water at the Croatian Chamber of Civil Engineers.
Who we work with
Public water utilities in Croatia and the region; international operators such as Miya Water on performance-based water-loss contracts; consultancies preparing EU applications and FOPIP projects in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina; and software partners — Igor is a Bentley-certified trainer for OpenFlows WaterGEMS.
We also teach, in the University Specialist Programme in Water Loss Management at the University of Zagreb, and Igor sits on the management committee of the IWA Water Loss Specialist Group, where he coordinates initiatives.
Research
Our field work has fed peer-reviewed research, including a field verification of the FAVAD pressure–leakage exponent published in Water (2022). It is the same question we answer for clients every day: how much water does a bar of pressure cost?
Tell us about your network
A short description of the system and the problem is enough to start. We reply within two working days.
