Water-loss reduction

Non-revenue water is water you treat and pump but never bill: leaks, bursts, meter errors and unauthorised use. We find out how much of each you have and where, then design the fix.

The core tools are District Metered Areas — zones with their own meters so losses can be tracked night by night — and pressure management, which cuts leakage across a whole zone by lowering pressure to what customers actually need. We size and specify the valves, place the meters and write the action plan your team follows.

Hydraulic modelling

A hydraulic model is a digital copy of your network — pipes, pumps, tanks, valves and demand — that calculates flow and pressure everywhere, at every hour. Calibrated against field measurements, it tells you how the system behaves today and what happens if you change something.

We build models in Bentley OpenFlows WaterGEMS for utilities of every size, from a small town to a capital city, and we keep them useful: updated to as-built state and handed over with the training to run them.

Network improvement and master plans

A master plan answers one question for the next 30 years: what should be built, in what order, and what will it cost? We prepare it on top of the hydraulic model and a proper assessment of the existing system, so every investment on the list has a reason.

Together with our partners, we bring the same work into feasibility studies and applications for EU and development-bank funding — we have prepared such documentation for agglomerations from Šibenik to Osijek.

GIS and digital maps

A utility runs on knowing where things are. We collect the network in the field, build a GIS platform in QGIS or your existing system, and keep it current so that the office, the model and the field crew all work from the same map.

The GIS becomes the base for the hydraulic model, for DMA design and for daily operations.

Site investigation and due diligence

Before anyone recommends anything, the system has to be measured. We plan and run flow and pressure campaigns, survey manholes and locate valves, regulators and meters, and inspect facilities to see what equipment is really there and what state it is in.

The result is a clear, independent picture of the network — useful for a utility planning investment, and for an operator or lender assessing a system they are about to take on.

Training

Models and maps only pay off if your own engineers can use them. We run hands-on courses in WaterGEMS and GIS — from first model to full calibration — and year-round professional development in water-loss management.

Igor is a Bentley Qualified Trainer for OpenFlows WaterGEMS, and we lecture in the University Specialist Programme in Water Loss Management at the University of Zagreb.
